1.       How did you come up with the program?

The program originated from my observation over many years that people were not improving in their health with traditional medical programs.  They were in many ways, worse.  I wanted to help them become healthier without so much dependence on drugs.

2.       Is the medical profession trustworthy today?

That is a trick question!  In my opinion, there is not an issue of trustworthiness but just a lack of communication between patient and physician.

 3.       How do you ensure regularity in children?

You must get them to drink lots of water (not sodas and cool aid) and eat lots of fruits and vegetables.  Exercise is important too!

 4.       Does salt make your blood pressure go up?

Salt only makes your blood pressure go up if you have kidney problems.  The use of salt in hypertensive patients is more myth than reality!

5.       Why does the body retain water?

The body retains water for several reasons, to include hormonal (during and around the menstrual cycle), poor circulation to the legs, and poor kidney function.

 6.       Is it better to cook with salt or apply salt after the food is cooked?

It is better to add to taste after the food has been cooked.

7.       Is pressure-cooking our food better than boiling, baking or frying?

There are no real differences.  All of these methods destroy enzymes, protein, and vitamins

8.       Is soymilk better than cows' milk?

Yes, because soymilk is from a vegetable source instead of a cow.

9.       Is it good to eat small portions of dirt to get minerals?

No.  You also ingest chemicals that might be present in the dirt like pesticides, herbicides, and other poisons.

10.     Can portion sizes cause high cholesterol?

Yes, if we eat too much food high in fat and cholesterol like meat and some dairy products.

 11.    What are the best supplements?

The best supplements are from natural sources, cold processed and bio-available (absorbed and used by the cells of the body).

12.     Is Ensure and Boost type products good for the body?

No, they contain mostly sugar and water.  They have very little nutritional value other than fat and sugar.  People who drink these types of supplements need protein for wound and cell repair.

13.     How can I reduce fluids from my system?

Ensure that your kidneys are functioning properly.  This would include monthly detoxification, monitoring salt intake during certain times of the month (females) and elevating your legs at night when necessary.

14.    Will iron pills correct anemia?

Yes, when your intestines absorb the iron.

15.    What is good for stress relief?

Not sweating the small stuff!  Really, the use of B-Complex vitamins is quite helpful along with recreational activities and exercise.

 16.     Can carbonated water with no calories, carbs, sugar, and etc. substitute for natural water?

Yes

 17.    What do you recommend that can be used during detoxification?

Drink lots of water (8-12 glasses/day), along with a natural colon cleanse, and increase the fiber in the diet with fruits and vegetables.

18.     Is it true that eating 6 to 8 mini meals keep the metabolism up causing weight loss?

To my knowledge, there is no data to support this concept.  The best way to adjust your metabolism is by exercising on a regular basis!

 19.     Does boiling water purify it?

Yes

 20.     Is breakfast the most important meal of the day?

No.  The most important meal may be the last meal that you eat and the time you eat it.

 21.     Is colon cancer hereditary?

In general, the answer is no.  There is a genetic disease associated with polyps in the colon that leads to cancer.  I believe that cancer occurs in families because of unhealthy eating and life style habits that are continued.

 22.     What do you think about dairy products – - specifically, eggs?

Eggs are a good source of protein if eaten in moderation.

23.     Why are men of color (black men) more likely to get prostate cancer?

I believe that the reason is not race related, but diet related along with a lack of education and regular examinations.

 24.     What do you recommend to help with motivation issues?

Motivation comes from the heart; that has to do with will and desire.  There has to be something that inspires a person to change.

 25.     Are sugar substitutes better than sugar?

Not necessarily.  I generally recommend white sugar (even in Diabetes) instead of sugar substitutes because of the possible cancer risks with sugar substitutes.
